3D scanning allows us to quickly make a digital version of physical objects. The technology really shines when your object is complex or organic and each detail and curve can be picked up and turned into a digital 3D CAD model. Once you have a 3D CAD model it can then be manipulated and 3D printed.

Reverse engineering also uses the 3D scanning process to capture information to create a digital reproduction of the physical object.
